After completing an Economics Degree, Scott Miller’s career began working for The Kamber Group in Washington, DC which formed the foundation for his understanding of economics and politics. Upon returning to Canada, his focus turned to asset management.

 

Scott’s focus has been in the areas of portfolio management, product development, marketing, sales and distribution.  Prior to launching Lane 8, Scott was instrumental in raising over four billion dollars for various alternative strategies within Canada. Scott also has experience with arbitrage, long/short equities, ETFs, derivatives, venture capital, private equity/debt, real estate, and fixed income/credit solutions. Scott was the lead Global Portfolio Manager at Tangerine Bank (formerly ING Direct) and oversaw the 12 billion dollar suite of global ETF portfolios. Scott was also tasked alongside 12 others in launching Charles Schwab’s Advisory Service business in Canada. Scott has benefited from having worked at a number of the world’s most prominent asset management firms including Merrill Lynch & Co., Charles Schwab & Co., Macquarie Bank of Australia, and ING Bank. He has also designed and co-managed portfolio’s with Morgan Stanley and Blackrock. Scott holds the CIM designation.
